Summary:
Dr.Laxmi Prasad Devkota is an Hydrological engineer by profession and has worked for more than twenty years under different position in various Government and Non-Government sectors. Among his several employment records, his major ones are described. He worked as a chairman in hydro-electric development committee for the Government of Nepal. He worked as a team leader in RECHAM consult Pvt. Ltd.  He is working as a visiting lecturer as interdisciplinary water resource management in the institute of Engineering (IOE), Lalitpur. At International levels, he worked as Assistant Professor in Geotechnical and Environmental Engineering Department, and as a Researcher in Civil Engineering Department, Nagoya University, Japan; and as a Consultant in Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, Thailand.
He is currently working as a senior research scientist at Nepal Development Research Institute (NDRI), and currently involved in Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation in Koshi River Basin, Nepal, as a Principal Investigator funded by the Climate and Development Knowledge Network (CDKN). His leadership skill ranges from a Member of National Planning Commission, Chairman of Nepal to Management skills from Executive Director to Coordinator. He has coordinated various national and international conferences, seminars and workshops on Human Resource Management skill ranging from very high-level professionals to skilled, semi-skilled and non-skilled workers, both in the office and fields to conduct various categories of research and development works. He has several Journals and Newspaper publications, including a book published on Policy issues in Hydroelectricity development in Nepal.
