Basu Dev Pandey is a ‘Medical Officer’ with more than 20 years of working experience in the field of ‘Tropical and Infectious’ Prevention. In his professional career, he has served as a Health Assistant in Save the Children Fund (UK) and as a District Health Officer in Mugu District Hospital, and he has worked as a Senior Medical Officer and a Consultant Physician, both at Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital, Kathmandu in a time span of 5 years.  He has been continuously working at Everest International Clinic and Research Center since 2010. He is also working as a Project Coordinator at Nepal Development Research Institute.
Giving a glance into his key works and major achievements, we can find that he has had a great contribution in the field of medicine, as he has worked in the Development of National Guidelines for Treatment of Dengue/ Dengue Hemorrhagic fever for Nepal 2007 and 2011 and preparation of manual for the management of Severe Malaria in the small and large hospital for South East Asia region of WHO 2006, preparation of guidelines and provide training for the different levels of health manpower in the National, Zonal and district hospital. He has also worked as a Camp Medical Officer in Bhutanese refugee camp from 1991-1992. He has served as a team member for “Tropical Disease” in Nepal Health Research Council. He has remained the Primary contact person for Global Outbreak response Network WHO and National focal person for dengue net in Nepal since 2004.
He has published more than 50 articles in peer review journals, and has also been awarded for the promotion of science 2008 from Nepal Academy of Science and Technology. He has led, facilitated and participated in more than dozens of national and international level trainings and workshops. He has organized training for the doctors, nurses and other health manpower for the management of severe malaria in the collaboration with WHO/ Global Fund Malaria component and EDCD and performed various level of training including teachers, traditional healers and different kinds of health manpower with Save the Children’s (UK).  He has served as a consultant for WHO/WPRO for the Global Outbreak Response Workshop at Singapore, Thailand 2008, Infectious diseases in the international and national organization and in Anti retroviral (ART) center in Sukraraj Tropical and Infectious Disease Hospital and other NGO working for HIV/AIDS.
